6 months… Your HALF Birthday!

My sweet, happy, smiling, lovely little guy,

It is your half birthday!  You are 6 months old!  How is that possible?  Well… it is, and you are a pure joy.  You still don't sleep through the night, or even close to that (sometimes waking up 2-4 times a night), but then you look at me and break into your two-tooth grin, and I melt and all is well!

Daddy snaps a 6-month pic at the park
You were a good sport, but really you just wanted to eat the number 6...
This is my FAVORITE hat, and I put it on you everywhere we go… look how adorable you are!

Is there any word to describe this pure cuteness and joy?

You are saying lots of little words "da-da" "um-da" "ai-ta" - it is fun to watch you experiment with sound.  You will watch me and try to mimic, and it is adorable.  I am trying really hard to get you to say mama!  You are rolling all over the place, sitting on all fours before you throw your arms out and get back on your tummy, you sit up by yourself… though you have still fallen over once or twice and bonked your head.
You have always had great head control, but look at you!  I don't have a pic of you on all fours.

You really just wanted to eat the number 6!

Here you are, eating the number 6!

You are sitting up so well!!!

So serious, but so adorable.  I could eat you up, I love you so!

Mommy… what are you doing up there?

You have thrush (or had… it is pretty much gone), which you passed to my while nursing.  You had the worst diaper rash I have ever seen, so we had to put a hold on the cloth diapers while you were healing… We have to put LOTS of diaper rash cream on you, and that is not good for the cloth diapers.  You get lots of air out time, and you seem to love that… However, during your naked, air-out times, we play lots of fun games and make silly noises and talk and talk and talk to each other.  You like my animated faces… you have many of your own!
You and me after bath time while you are airing out!

chillin' out, maxon, relaxin' all cool n all...

You LOVE your sister… LOVE her, and she LOVES you.  Every single time she walks into the room, you light up and smile so big.  She helps with you, loves on you, kisses you, holds you… you have one incredible sister, and boy does she adore you.  Daddy and I consider ourselves fortunate for this connection you two have.
She's a goofball, and you LOVE it.  So do we all, frankly!  She's a joy, and you adore her!

She likes to climb into your crib, and play games with you… she also reads to you a lot.  I have video to prove it!

Look at her looking at you!

Happy brother and sister!

My heart just exploded!

Yup… more explosion!

You enjoy Mother's Day Out.  You like your teacher Courtney, and you smile at her every time you see her.  However, you smile at everyone… people melt when you are around.  You just make people feel gushy on the inside.  You have a sweet little soul.  I adore you so.

You and I have such a connection.  We adore each other, but you just light up my life.  You and sister both make me feel whole and complete… little pieces of me and your Daddy running around.  I have a special bond with both you and your sister that is different, but the same.  I see your personality really starting to shine through; a happy, smiling, lovely, sweet little soul that just makes my heart smile.

I love you to the moon and back.  You bring me such joy.  I usually put you into your bed drowsy so you can learn to fall asleep on your own, but tonight I held you to my chest and just cuddled you.  I felt such a peace sweep over me.  You were exactly what I needed tonight.  You wiped all my stress away, and the love I felt was overpowering.

Never doubt you are loved beyond measure, my sweet boy.  You are loved and cherished. My sweet little baby boy is growing up so very fast.  How are you already 6 months old? Calm down, little guy… mama's heart isn't ready for this.
Oh… my heart!!!!

Busy at play.  Debi, your future teacher and our dear friend, gave you some of Keenan's old baby montessori-style toys… Mollie gives you lessons every day.

Doing some work!

I love you cuddle bug,
Mommy
