9 Weeks Old

Sweet Maxon,

This week we are working on sleep issues. We are trying to figure out what wakes you up so much from 3 am to 6 am. Mommy is tired. :)

You smiled at me for the first time this week. Really sweet, gummy smiles that melted my heart. I squealed and your sister runs over and tries to make you smile at her. Oh, how she loves you.

Speaking of your sister... She blamed you for breaking something. She doesn't know that it won't work yet... at least not until you can walk and control your own hand movements. Haha!

I mailed your announcements out today. They are adorable!  Can't wait to hear what people think!

You smell like vanilla and new... I just can't get enough. Oh, how I love you, my sweet boy. I'm so honored to be your mommy.

Love,
Me

The Time Flies

My Sweet Mollie-Girl,

You want to play with me...

You want to snuggle with me...

You adore me, trust me, and your Daddy and I are your best friends...

I had this realization the other day that it wont always be like that.  Hopefully you will always want to be around me, but I won't always be the center of your world. That hit me hard... I try to say yes as much as I can, but now my time and attention is split between you and your brother. I just dont want to lose any time with you... Any precious moments that we can make into memories and I can remember your sweet face, spunky personality and kind heart.

I adore you... My best girl. I love our life, and I am so grateful you are my girl. I'm honored to be your mommy.

Love you forever,

Mommy

8 Weeks/ 2 Months Old

Wow!  How is this possible?? You are already 2 months old and time continues to fly!  You are sitting up in the bumbo, holding your head up, rolling to your back, and quite fussy.

You are pretty easily satisfied, but if you are not in the wrap or on my chest, you are not happy, but I love it.

You didn't wake up every hour last night! You slept for 5 hours the first time and 3 hours the next two times, so I felt pretty good today

You. Are. Beautiful. And. Handsome. I love looking at you, and giving you kisses, and telling you I love you. I'm so honored that you are my son.  I love you!

Your Aunt Veronica, Uncle Mate and cousin Donovan are in town and we are having a grand time!

Love you,
Mommy

7 weeks old

Hi Baby Boy,

If you weren't a sweet, innocent little guy, I would think you hated me. Haha!  Just kidding. Not sure why, but we have had lots of nights where I really don't get any sleep. Instead of you going longer between feedings, it has been getting shorter. Soooo... brain smarts tell me that if you are still yelling at me after nursing, that you might still be hungry. I make you a bottle of formula and feed you, you eat it all and then either throw up or wake up screaming an hour later. I am working on figuring out what is going on.

You are growing like crazy!   Boys sure do pee, poop and eat a lot. ;)

I've been working a lot more, and you just go everywhere with me. You have been a perfect little gentleman... as if you have any control over that, but it has been helpful!

Our remodel started this week and things are looking good. :)

Love you to the moon and back, infinity.

Happy Half Birthday, My Love

Hey Baby Girl,

I have been pretty bad about being consistent with your letters. I'm trying to do weekly for your brother until he is a year old, and monthly for you. I mostly hit that goal, but I still miss so much!

Let's see... sweet words you say in your own special way:

~ Flick chalet (chick-fil-e)

~ tempatature (temperature)

~ Lift down (instead of bend down)

Some poignant things you have said recently:

~ It Is really important that my papa is alive so he can play with me and hear my songs

~ Mommy, I wish after you died you could come back.

You are taking gymnastics and we are thinking about dance. You enjoy it once you get there, but never really want to go... until I tell you that you can wear your leotard... and occasionally that there might be ice cream after. :)

We took you to Nashville shores. You Loved it and went down the bigger slides they would let you go down, by yourself, with no fear, even though two were completely dark in places. You AMAZE me!  I love your fearlessness. I never want to squash that, but I want to always make sure your are careful with that gift.

You are an AMAZING big sister. You continue to amaze me. You've only yelled at Max to stop crying twice, and that was because you were super tired and frustrated yourself. You love,  protect, and take care of him. It makes my heart happy.

Mostly we are down to a little screaming, occasional yelling, and the very rare hitting episode. Mostly, we can talk through everything in the thinking chair, or you are willing to work it out quickly so you don't have to go to the thinking chair.

You do really well sharing with your friends... with a few incidents here and there that we have to talk about. The most interesting thing is that when you get your feelings hurt, your inclination is to get mean. You either yell at them or grab something from them. We are working on that... I totally get it. What I love is that Instead of retreating you push forward to confront it, but it is now my job to teach you a healthier way to deal with confrontation or hurt feelings. We will get there.

I've heard horror stories about three-year-old children. I was braced, but it had been great. I feel like it has been fine and we have and new kid in the house... that is saying something about you kiddo!!!

I adore you and I love how you challenge me to be a better and more creative parent. Right now when I tell you I love you, you say one of two things..."me too" or "I love you more"

Guess what??? I love you THE MOST!

Mama (what you have decided to call me)

Sweet Maxon,

Soooo, you have a cold. You got it from your sweet, loving, kissy sister. She adores you so much, and gives you lots of kisses, hugs and snuggles. Guess what?  She has a cold, ha!

You have yet to thank me for suctioning your nose 5 times a day. Even though you can breath afterwards, and subsequently nurse, you just scream at me ;)

We went to Nashville Shores and you hung with me while daddy and Mollie went down some pretty big slides. She loves you and you are beginning to recognize and stare at her.

You are getting so big!  I love you, sweet boy!
