15 Weeks

Well... You rolled over from your back to your stomach this week!  I have no idea how you did it, but below is a picture right after you did it.  You were screaming bloody murder!  I love, love, love our conversations.  They last a long time, you are VERY talkative and you like to respond to what I say. You mimic me when I talk in baby language to you and you do it very seriously!  And then you smile... that smile... It melts your mama's heart!

I have started signing to you.  Words like Mommy, Daddy, milk, hungry, eat, change diaper, etc.  You have no idea what I am doing and you just give me your gummy smile or annoyed cry and we move on.  However, it was HUGE with your sister and really lessened her frustration with communication.  This is the age we started with her, so here we go!

Oh, how I love you!  I know one thing a mom of two worries about with their second one is the possibility of not feeling the same with the second.  The first one is so full of firsts, and you can be totally, 100% focused on the first baby.  With the second, you have another child that needs you, doesn't understand why they are not the focal point of your world anymore, and sometimes acts out.  Luckily, your sister has not had any of those issues.  However, she does still need me and needs my time.  She makes me sing the Daniel Tiger song (you will learn about him soon enough), "There's Time for You and Baby too" - Haha!  She adores you.  She has been loving and kind and helpful with you.  She had some of her own issues for about 6 months while you were growing in my tummy, but all of those have subsided, normal three-year-old stuff, tremendous change stuff, whateves.  Your sister had a rough year with all the change, death, and traveling!  We did well, and all made it through just fine!

Me... how have I felt about my second little?  Well... I did find that I felt a different immediate attachment to you.  I felt like from the moment you showed up I was fighting to be with you.  I didn't get to snuggle with you from the get go... you were in the NICU.  I didn't listen to the doctors and rest because I wanted to be near you and holding you (which they didn't let me do for like a day and a half), but I still walked down there every 2 1/2 hours with pumped breast milk and to just put my hand on your little body.  I felt a fierce attachment.  Once they finally let me hold you and your oxygen leveled out and your heart rate settled, I was overcome with emotion.  Every single day brought a stronger bond between us... we were fighting together, to be together.  That is a special bond you and I have.  The love... it's the same.  Being smitten - it's the same.  How "mama-bear" I feel - it's the same.  All my worries melted away when I realized I didn't have to give half of my love to each of you... maybe half of my attention... my heart grew, my emotions grew, my love grew to accommodate both of you.  It is just about the coolest thing ever.

I love you to the moon and back, my sweet boy,

14 Weeks

Hey Buddy,

So this week I went to Pennsylvania for work and this was my first time away from you since you were born.  I had enough breast milk for you while I was gone and pumped 80oz!  That is a big deal for me... I definitely have more milk for you than I had for your sister.  Maybe it is because you eat constantly, and the fact that I have been able to keep you home a lot longer.

Uncle Abe and Aunt Val had you both from Sunday to Monday morning and then it was all daddy!

You are smiling and giggling and talking up a storm.  It is so fun to see you develop.  I really, really missed you while I was gone.  I wasn't really ready to be away from you, but I think I held up pretty well... I know you did.  Keep growing and smiling and talking and looking at me with your sparkly eyes.  I love you, handsome boy!

Love,
Mommy

13 Weeks

Hey Sweet Boy!

Gosh what a week!  You went to Arcola, IL with me this past week. Your sister stayed with Keenan and Ms. Debi. We went to say goodbye to the Green Mill Village Theatre, staff and cast after 14 months of blood, sweat, and tears.  It was sad, but you made everyone smile.

It is so fun with your smiles and coos... You are a joy. I love you so very much, my little guy!

3 months old-October 23rd

Hey my sweet little LOVE,

How are you already 3 months old? You have stolen my heart and I am so totally in LOVE with you. Your gorgeous smile, your old man face when you cry, your stinky toots (you are constipated right now), your cough cry, and your new baby/vanilla-smelling snuggles. I just adore you. What a fortunate mommy I am that I have two amazing babies.

When you smile at me, it isn't just your mouth, it's your eyes... They smile at me too, and I hope that is always the case!  I'm loving our little family and you complete us.

Love you intensely!

11 Weeks Old

Hey Cutie!

Sleep started to get better and then a little worse. You were constipated for a few days, but I was able to help you work it out. Still, trying to figure out sleeping and eating.

You are so sweet. Lots of smiles and coos, and I LOVE it!

We went to another fall festival. You mostly slept, as usual, but I snapped a couple of cute photos.

The remodel is almost done!  I can't wait. I can't hardly breathe from all the dust. Probably not great for you guys, but I keep you upstairs.

We went to a fall festival/pumpkin patch at Lucky Ladd Farm... We had a great time!

Love you so much, my handsome boy!

10 Weeks old!

Hey Baby Boy,

You sure are happy. Except when you are hungry and I don't get to you fast enough... Which might be a lot. Ha!

Your sleeping has been sooooo much better, and I am grateful for that. You smile at me a lot, which basically melts my heart. Ask me for anything... I'll say yes.

Your sister continues to amaze me with her love and care for you. We lucked out with our little family. I'm going to do all I can to make sure you are always really close!

Love you so much little mister two and a half month old.

Tonight's routine

Hey Sweet Baby Girl,

Today your daddy and I did a lot of errand-running.  We found these great spooky books at Essex for Halloween, so we got you a "prize" as we always call a present or gift around our house.  When we got home from daycare (school is on Fall Break), we said you could have your prize once you used the toilet, put on your jammas, brushed your teeth and bounced on your Minnie Mouse bouncy ball back into the living room.  You said "ok" and set out to get everything done.  Here is the subsequent conversation (you were yelling from the other room while I was feeding your brother):

Mollie: I'm going potty!
Mommy: Great!
Mollie: What's next? Jamma's?
Mommy: Yes!
Mollie: What's next?
Mommy: Brush teeth
Mollie: That's totally gonna happen!
Mommy: (laughing audibly) Ok, Great!
Mollie: First I'm going to floss
Mommy: Sounds great!
Mollie: (2 seconds later) Done
Mommy: I don't think you actually flossed.
Mollie: Yes I did.  I will show you. (walk into the living room and pantomime flossing)
Mommy: Okay, well... alright.
Mollie: And I brushed my teeth... here SMELL!
Mommy: Okay... you did great!
Mollie: Can I have my prize now???

Haha!  You keep me on my toes, and more importantly... laughing.

Love you the most,
Mommy

We also went to Chick-Fil-E today:
